LANDFILL ATTENDANT/
OPERATOR
(FULL TIME POSITION)
Subregion 2
(Bill’s Pit; Main Brook-
Englee Landfill Site)

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Class 5 Drivers License with Air
Brake Endorsement or Class 9 and
Class 8 Traction and Engine
• Experience in heavy equipment
• Knowledge and performance of safe
work practices
• Waste management related
experience an asset

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Physically fit; allowing repetitive
lifting of weighs up to 30 lbs
• Customer service skills
• Work independently

DUTIES:
• Accept training when required on
waste management issues
• On-site waste allocation and
separation may be required
• Keep accurate records of site
patrons and waste amounts/type
• Weekly push off/cover waste
material using tractor
• Responsibility for conducting preoperational
checks on tractor and
maintenance
• At times you will be required to
replace the waste collector (training
will be provided to operate
compactor truck)
• Work outdoor setting
• On-site maintenance
• Think clearly, meet work deadlines,
and demonstrate good observation
skills
• Help establish and maintain cooperative
working relationship with
all personnel and disposal site users
• Excellent verbal communication
skills with public and customers
